ZMODO zp-nc18-s firmware update issue

ZMODO ZP-NC18-S

So I updated the firmware on this system and lost remote connectivity. After searching I found that alot of people had this issue and there was nowhere to download a roll back of the firmware. UNTIL NOW. I contacted Zmodo and got the tech to email me the firmware I needed and placed it on GDrive for all.

Use this link CLICK HERE to get the fix to your issue!
WARNING! Make @#$% sure you have the system listed above! Flashing the wrong firmware will turn your system into a brick!

Once downloaded, you can use the Zviewer app (I used the Windows version) to connect to the device and apply the update. If you need help I will be happy to help. Of course I will accept a donation but not requiring it.

  2. Thanks - I sent request with Zmodo for the old firmware but no response... yet.

In any case - Thanks again. I was getting annoyed not being able to view my cameras locally without having to use meshare which doesn't really allow you to view all the cameras in one view -

  3. I am assuming the only way to transfer this file is saving it to a usb drive and then plugging into camera system DVR and hitting USB update.

I saved to USB drive and tried but dvr is saying cannot read update file.

  5. Luke, you will need to use Zviewer on your PC to send the file to the NVR, useing the USB wont work with this file, and I am not sure what the NVR is looking for on the USB,
Using Zviewer works like a champ.

    1. Daniel, you can try to use the firmware directly from ZMODO: http://files.zmodo.com/Software%20Files/NVR%20Tools/Original%20NVR/3520D_8NVR-APP_from_43.8.x.x

  9. I have had success flashing the nvr from zviewer. If you can login locally and flash it, wait abt 5 min and power cycle the unit that may work.
Also I have found that Zmodo is updating our units without consent because they are trying to force the new web app (that isn't even ready!!!)

    1. The .txt file is the one you need... but you have to use the Zviewer software to send it to your nvr.

  11. I would just verify username and password. If you don't have one, maybe delete what's default

  12. Fluke thanks for your help with Zviewer I'm able to see the cameras live, In the device list i see my camera IPC and Ip number.
then the NVR name and IP 192.268.2.36 .
I can access the camera remote setting then then under advance setting I see the UPDATE.
I'm assuming this need to be done (I mean the update) on the NVR.
When I attempt to do the remote setting command I get the login fail.
    I deleted zviewer and reinstall.
If i get into the edit the edit device shows a different ip 10.80.1.54 and a port 13210, but those parameters cannot be modified. only user name and password, I use default admin and 111111
    Your suggestions are appreciated.

  13. SOLVED !
Automatic search for device does not work. I have to setup my DVR manually and then remote works.
I was able to "upgrade" DOWN... and now is working over explorer!
I can see my beautiful blue screen

    Thanks all for your help
